Wonder Woman breaks the domestic box office record, grossing $100+ million in the U.S. opening weekend, setting a new milestone for a female-directed film. Surpassing Fifty Shades of Grey’s previous record, the superhero epic achieves global success with $125 million offshore, contributing to a $228 million global debut. Wonder Woman’s triumph extends to the Indian box office, poised to break records in the coming weeks.

Wonder Woman: Breaking Records and Soaring High

Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman shattered domestic records, boasting a $100+ million opening weekend in the U.S. It surpasses Fifty Shades of Grey, becoming the top-grossing film directed by a woman.

Globally, the superhero epic hits $125 million offshore and an impressive $228 million in its global debut. As Wonder Woman gains traction, its triumph extends to the Indian box office, poised for record-breaking success.

Following Wonder Woman’s impactful introduction in Batman V Superman, her standalone film arrives. The theme revolves around fighting for one’s beliefs. It’s an exceptional superhero movie and an impressive portrayal of World War I.

Gal Gadot’s performance is outstanding, solidifying her as the perfect Wonder Woman. The film premiered in Shanghai on May 15, 2017, and was released in the United States on June 2, 2017.

Available in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats, it received praise globally. Wonder Woman had its United States premiere in Los Angeles on May 25, with its Latin America premiere in Mexico City on May 27.

However, the film faced controversy, banned in Lebanon due to Gal Gadot’s Israeli military service.
