The Flower of Aleppo directed by Ridha Behi, is the story of a mother (Hend Sabry) desperate to save her son from the clutches of the ISIS. She disguises herself as a Jihadi woman and enters into the heart of ISIS, Aleppo in Syria. The film was initially screened for the first time at the opening ceremony of the 27th Carthage Film Festival on 28 October 2016. Tunisia Selects ‘Flower of Aleppo’ for Foreign-Language Category, this is only its third-ever submission for the Academy’s best foreign-language film category.
