‘The Jungle Book’ passes $300M worldwide before entering the second week and there will be no stopping. It is reported that, Disney has hold on 376 Imax screens for the 2nd weekend in a row for Jungle Book.
Jungle Book started in China with a grand $48.5M, which is the 3rd biggest launch ever for a Walt Disney live-action picture. With 113.70 cr INR it is already the 3rd highest-grossing Hollywood release ever in India behind Furious 7 and Jurassic World. It is expected to cross 120 cr nett by the end of second week. Industry tracker Taran Adarsh tweeted “What’s shocking is that the 2nd Tuesday biz of The Jungle Book [₹ 6.37 cr] is HIGHER than the 1st Tuesday biz of Fan [₹ 5.75 cr].”
It is said that jungle locations in India were photographed and used as reference for the jungle environment in the film for computer-generated VFX. Even though the story is set in India, the film was shot completely at the LA Center Studio in Los Angeles, California.
For Hindi dubbed version Om Puri, Nana Patekar, Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan etc were cast to voice the animals.
