Mohanlal’s next big budget film Villain is censored with a U certificate and is releasing big on October 27. Though releasing after Diwali, Villain promises to be a cracker of a film. He plays an ex-cop in this film produced by Rockline Venkatesh under the banner, Rockline Entertainments Pvt Ltd. With a run-time of 2 hours and 17 minutes, Villain is directed by B Unnikrishnan with Mohanlal in the lead role and has Manju Warrier, Vishal, Hansika, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Rashi Khanna, Aju Varghese and Chemban Vinod Jose in supporting roles. Film’s score was composed by Sushin Shyam and Manoj Paramahamsa was the cinematographer.
Touted to be a technically outstanding film, Villain is the first Indian film to be completely filmed and to be released in 8K resolution. The teaser and trailer of the film got a superb response from fans and Audience. The teaser of the film, which was released in April this year, clocked a million views in just three hours. In this film, Mohanlal plays an ex-cop and will be appearing in two different looks. In the older role, he will seen in a salt and pepper avatar, for the young cop role he will be seen in a stylish one. The film also marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil stars Vishal, Hansika Motwani, Telugu actors Srikanth and Raashi Khanna in main roles. The film has been making excellent business even before its release. Popular Malayalam entertainment channel Surya TV is said to have bagged the satellite rights of Villain for a whopping Rs 7 crore (approx), which is said to be the highest amount bagged by a Malayalam movie.
