Sarvam Thaala Mayam / சர்வம் தாள மயம் Rajiv Menon is back with AR Rahman for a musical journey after their two super hits, Kandukondain Kandukondain and Minsara Kanavu. GV Prakash Kumar to do the lead role and Nedumudi Veni is also said to be a part of the film. Rajiv Menon’s first film, Minsara Kanavu (1997) received four National Film Awards including ‘Best Music Direction’ and his second Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000) fetched him the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Director award.
Before and after these two movies, Rajiv Menon has done many ads with A. R. Rahman’s Jingles, like Airtel, Colgate, Palmolive, Titan, Raymonds, Coca Cola. Recently Rajiv Menon made a documentary about seven great Carnatic musicians for the event of releasing the coffee-table book “Voices Within” by the contemporary musicians T.M Krishna and Bombay Jayashree. Knowing the visuals and music tracks of their previous outings, the new title, Sarvam Thaala Mayam looks very apt for the team. The two-time Oscar Award winner is said to have composed 9 plus songs. The heroine, cinematographer and other technical crew are yet to be announced. Ravi K. Chandran was the cinematographer of Kandukondain Kandukondain and Minsara Kanavu (along with Venu).
The film is expected to go on floor from January 2017. 2017 already looks very musical with Maniratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai looking for a March release and Sarvam Thaala Mayam might be looking for a year end release. Anyhow, get ready for a trip to the heaven of music on a magic carpet.
